Director Karthik Subbaraj recently took to Twitter to announce the release of the trailer of his film Mercury, a silent film which features Prabhu Deva in the lead. In his first post, he announced that the trailer for the film would release on 5th April at 4 pm. However a few hours before the expected trailer was to be released, he posted a note on Twitter that said he would be postponing the release of the trailer. However, the release of the film will go as per schedule as it is a silent film. He also mentioned that several have put their ‘sweat and blood’ into this film and the release on April 13th. The post also mentioned that they are supporting TNFPC’s ban and hence he will not release the film in Tamil.

Karthik’s statement comes in wake of TNFPC’s ban to restrict the release of all new films, events and shoots. Soon after the response, producer Hitesh Jhabak, responded by with a post that stated ”Even we put our sweat and blood’ in our films” and that his film Tik Tik Tik is three times the budget of Mercury.

Well, looks like there is a difference of opinion in the way filmmakers are viewing the strike. Here’s hoping they clear their differences and the audience get to watch both these films in theatres soon.
