Jayasurya and Soubin Shahir win big at the Kerala State Awards

Stars descended in Thiruvananthapuram at the 49th Kerala State Awards on Sunday evening. Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan presented the awards.
The award for the Best Actor was won by Jayasurya for his fabulous performance in ‘Njan Marykutty‘ and ‘Captain’. Soubin Shahir won the award for his brilliant performance in the film Sudani From Nigeria.
Actress Nimisha Sajayan won the award for her performance in ‘Chola‘ and ‘Oru Kuprasidha Payyan‘. Joju George won the award for Best Supporting actor. The JC Daniel Award was presented to veteran actress Sheela.
Speaking at the awards nights Jayasurya thanked his wife Saritha and his son Adwaith. Soubin too thanked his family for the immense support they’ve given him.

The Kerala state awards are given by the Chalachitra Academy since 1998. It was presented by Department of Cultural Affairs, Government of Kerala until 1977.
