The 69-year-old actor played triple roles in the film and won the hearts of the audience. Synonymous with the term superstar, Rajinikanth has starred in over 160 films. 1. Rajinikanth is the only Indian actor who has acted in all formats including Black and white, colour, motion-capture and 3D.

2. Did you know that Rajinikanth appeared as an abusive husband in his first? Not just that, Kamal Haasan played the lead role in the film.

3. For the film Sivaji in 2007, Rajinikanth’s fee was 26 crores, which made him the second-highest paid actor in Asia, only next to Jackie Chan.

4. Rajinikanth has starred in a Bengali film directed by dance choreographer Raghuram. Titled Bhagya Debata, the movie featured Mithun Chakraborty in the lead.

5. Remember Rajinikanth’s 1982 film Moondru Mugam? Directed by A. Jagannathan, the film saw the star playing three roles. Director T. Rama Rao remade this movie in Hindi under the title John Jani Janardhan, in which Rajinikanth reprised his roles.

6. The only film written and produced by Rajinikanth is the 1993 drama Valli.

7. He first began showing his acting skills at Kannada plays, in which he used to play the role of Duryodhana.

8. Rajinikanth considers himself to be a highly spiritual person. In his 100th film, Sri Raghavendra, he played the role of Hindu saint Raghavendra Swami.

9. In 1988, Rajinikanth appeared in his first and only Hollywood film Bloodstone.

10. Rajinikanth’s 2.0 is the India most-expensive film which was made on a budget of over 500 crores.
