Archana Kalpathi - Vijay - Bigil - Atlee

Bigil, the film which stars Thalapathy Vijay released on Diwali has the nation talking about it. From Bollywood biggie Karan Johar to former cricketer Arnold Russel – Celebrities have been heaping praise on the film. Directed by Atlee, the film revolves around two themes sports and ambitious women.

In what seems like a perfect match a woman herself has produced the film! We are talking about the boss woman, Archana Kalpathi of AGS Entertainment who is the creative producer behind the project. Daughter of producer Kalpathi S Aghoram, having completed her masters in New York, Archana ventured into films in 2007 as the CEO of AGS cinemas. Since then AGS has produced films Santosh Subramaniam, Madrasapattinam, Maatran and Thani Oruvan.

A creative producer means acting as a bridge between the direction team and the production. It isn’t just involvement in the script but the reasoning to spend a certain amount for the film. That’s where Archana was involved in.

Made on a budget of 180 crores, Archana was involved in the film on Vijay’s instance. Otherwise, she is only involved after the film has been directed.

Speaking to The Hindu she spoke about how they had several challenges when they were shooting for Bigil. One instance is how they could not find a stadium for an uninterrupted shoot, so they build their own! Wow, now that’s something!

We congratulate this strong women who works hard behind the scenes to put the best show forward! May you witness heights in the years to come!
