Amid criticism, Odiyan’s VA Shrikumar urges Manju Warrier to support him

When Odiyan released on 14th December, little did the team of the film expect to receive severe backlash from fans of Mohanlal. Considering the hype around the film, fans of Mohanlal anticipated the film to be an entertainer. However, as it didn’t live up to their expectation, fans began trolling VA Shrikumar and expressing their disappointment on social media. Amid criticism, Odiyan’s VA Shrikumar urges Manju Warrier to support him.

On Saturday, Shrikumar Menon spoke to a media portal about the issue. He said that the reason behind the target is because he is associated with Manju Warrier’s growth in the industry. Shrikumar who claimed that he had assisted Manju’s growth in the industry, has now urged that the actress should support him at this moment when he is facing criticism. He further went on to say “I knew clearly that there are a group of people who did not want Manju Warrier to become successful and I knew that they would target me if I helped her.”

VA Shrikumar is also said to direct the 1000-crore budget film based on Mahabharat, however, there is a cloud of uncertainty over it after novelist MT Vasudevan Nair moved a court claiming the director to return his original screenplay. You can read more about it here.
