All you need to know about Saamy Square
Director Hari’s Saamy released in the year 2003, made the film’s lead actor Vikram’s character into one of Kollywood’s loved police officers – Aarusaamy. Now, the team of Saamy is back with the sequel to the film. Titled Saamy Square, the film is said to be racier than Saamy and it is touted to be an action entertainer. Reports suggest that the story will start off after the death of Perumal Pichai (played by Kota Srinivasa Rao), and his son Ravana Pichai will take on Aarusaamy. Bobby Simha is playing the role of the antagonist in the film.
Produced by Thameens Films, the motion poster of the film gives us a sneak-peek of a statue of an angry Aarusaamy, seated in a milestone (Thirunelveli) with a sword with German Shepherd dogs by his side. Then, Vikram comes to life, the sword is replaced by a gun and the milestone hints about him heading to Delhi. This indicates that Aarusaamy has taken a new form and route, or that his son has taken up his post.
The film also stars Keerthy Suresh, John Vijay, Prabhu and Soori among others. Trisha, who was the heroine of Saamy was also brought on board for the film only to quit the project later citing creative differences.
