You have to see A. R. Rahman’s picture on feminism

The world knows A. R. Rahman as an Oscar award-winning composer, however in this latest post on social media, he proves that he’s much more. In the recent picture he posted featured his daughters Kathija, Raheema, wife Sairaa and Nita Ambani. He captioned the picture “Freedom to choose”. And we’re inspired by the caption! If you are wondering why then observe the picture carefully.

Kathija is a nikabi, who is only revealing her eyes. Raheema is seen wearing a traditional outfit with an open hairdo, Sairaa appears in her trademark style with a veil on her head, and Neeta Ambani is dressed in a saree.

The picture reveals that every woman in the frame, has the freedom to choose. The choice to decide her clothing and look. If the burqa is helping Kathija liberated, then not wearing one helps Raheema feel so. It’s all about the comfort and the choice! This is where feminism steps in. The very privilege to choose is every woman’s right, and when a man recognises it, he stands with her!

A. R. Rahman is a man of few words, however today he’s proved that he is a wise man of wise words! Kudos to his thought.
