Actor Arjun Sarja has been accused of sexual misconduct by actor Sruthi Hariharan. The gutsy young actor took to her Twitter to pen down her feelings about the Me Too Movement and share her personal experiences which was unusual in her workplace environment. In her note, Sruthi stated about the time when Arjun and her were shooting for a bilingual (The film Nibunan in Tamil) when he run his hand up and down her back passing it off as preparation for the shoot. She says ” ”Mr Arjun hugs me, with no forewarning or permission he runs his hands intimately up and down my back. He pulls me closer with my body taut against his and asks the director if we could use this idea of foreplay in the scene. I was aghast. I am all for depicting realism in cinema, but felt absolutely wrong. His intent seemed anything but professional”. She went on to say that the director sensed her discomfort. She further added that she has worked with several actors but nobody has behaved this way with her.

She said that she decided to complete the shoot because she was a professional. She also said ”His salacious invitations to meet him after work appalled me”.
She said that the reason why she has decided to voice her views now is that she wants to make sure no man ever takes a woman’s personal space for grated. whoever she is to him.
A few weeks ago popular singer Chinmayi used Twitter to call out lyricist Vairamuthu for behaving unprofessionally with her on several occasions. Following her tweet several women who have faced sexual misconduct and harassment from him also spoke up. Filmmaker Leena Manimekalai has accused director Susi Ganesan for misbehaving with her and forcing her to come to his house. Actors Samantha, Siddharth, Vishal and Varalakshmi spoke in favour of the Me Too Movement that’s helping women speak up and expose details about the harasser/predator.
