One may assume that Chinmayi has been receiving support from fans and social media users as well, however, her recent posts show the ugly side to it. A nameless and faceless troll sent her an inbox message hurling abuses at her. She posted ”What do women like me get from random beings on social media post MeToo? Here is a sample.
Everyday, at least 5 such messages, emails or comments. Stuff that I have gotten soooo used to that I dont even react these days. Innnaaa oru kalaachaaram 🙂
(TRIGGER WARNING)”

Texts like this to sexual harassment is what women are trained to ignore, grin and bear. If we want to be taken seriously, if we want our work taken seriously. Also, we shouldn’t complain because who knows when people will get tired of listening to us?

You ll find more examples of men responding in Tamil as a response to this tweet as well. Men that I block on a daily basis everyday. Men who pretend to be ‘normal’ around family/friends (hopefully) but anonymously spew all their perversion here on social media 🙂

Shocking! Isn’t it? Chinmayi is a strong woman who tackles this everyday. We wish her more strength.
