Cricketer Smriti Mandhana’s opinion of Sivakarthikeyan’s Kanaa

Actor Sivakarthikeyan’s maiden production venture Kanaa is already winning the right kind of attention even before its release. Directed by Arunraja Kamaraj, the film starring Aishwarya Rajesh and Sathyaraj is said to tell a story about a woman cricketer and the hurdles she faces in life.
The film’s audio was launched by cricketer Smriti Mandhana at Chennai, earlier last month. Now, in a press release, the cricketer went on to speak about the film. She said she ”I literally got goosebumps after seeing the teaser as I am a big movie fanatic”. She also spoke about how a sports-based film like Kanaa will help a lot of women get involved in them. She went on to say that she is waiting to watch the film.
Sivakarthikeyan and Arunraja were classmates in college and hail from the same town. Arunraja acted alongside the star in Mankarate. Sivakarthikeyan is awaiting the release of his film Seema Raja directed by Ponram.
Actor Aishwarya Rajesh has a line of films in her kitty including Mani Ratnam’s Chekka Chevandha Vaanam, Rathindran R Prasad’s Idhu Vedhaalam Sollum Kadhai, AL Vijay’s Lakshmi, Vetrimaaran’s Vada Chennai and Gautam Menon’s Dhruva Natchathiram. Meanwhile, veteran actor Sathyaraj will be seen in Venkat Prabhu’s Party and Sathyasiva’s Madai Thiranthu.
