Director Seenu Ramasamy’s last film Dharmadurai starring Vijay Sethupathi in the lead was received well by the audience. During the course of shooting the film, Seenu Ramasamy was taken aback by Vijay Sethupathi’s popularity and gave him the prefix ‘Makkal Selvan” (Admiration of people). Now, another hero of his film gets a prefix before his name.

In a post on Twitter, Seenu Ramasamy penned his thoughts stating that he felt the need to name Udhayanidhi Stalin ‘Makal Anban’ because his heart said so. This may also indicate about Udhayanidhi’s political entry. Makal Anban may roughly translate to the one loved by many or the one worthy of everyone’s love. Seenu Ramasamy and Udhayanidhi have together worked in the film Kanne Kalaimaane – a title borrowed by the song of the same name from Kamal Haasan and Sridevi’s film Moondram Pirai (1982). Starring Tamannah Bhatia is a pivotal role, this film is expected to hit screens soon.
Meanwhile, Seenu Ramasamy will next work with Vijay Sethupathi for a film titled Maamaidhan. This film will see Ilayaraja and his sons Karthikraja and Yuvan Shankar Raja score music for a film.
