Highlights from the audio launch of Sarkar

The audio launch of director A. R. Murgadoss and actor Vijay‘s Sarkar was held in Chennai amidst much fanfare. The event took place at an engineering college, making the venue easily accessible to fans and well-wishers of the actor. The launch was telecasted live on Sun Tv, on Tuesday evening. Produced by Kalanithi Maran under the banner Sun Pictures (which is part of the Sun Group) the event was hosted by actor Prasanna and VJ Diya. The event was attended by Oscar-award winning music composer A. R. Rahman, Keerthy Suresh, Varalakshmi Sarathkumar, Yogi Babu and Radha Ravi.

Speaking at the audio launch producer Kalanithi Maran raved about Vijay. He said ”The two most humble souls in Kollywood are Rajinikanth and Vijay.” Director A. R. Murgadoss too spoke about his film’s lead actor. He said ”Making a film like Sarkar could happen only with Vijay and nobody else. When you are making a political film, the dialogues should come from the heart, and Vijay did it so well. I could feel the intensity of the scene from the way he said those dialogues.”. This is A. R. Murgadoss’ third collaboration with Vijay. Their previous films include Thuppaki and Kaththi.

Actress Keerthy Suresh, who has worked with Vijay after Bairava took to the stage to say that Sarkar is her biggest film till date. She also recalled the first time she met Vijay, at the 100th day celebration of his film Pokkiri. She went on to say that she is a fan of the actor and his humble down-to-earth attitude. The film’s other female lead, Varalaskhmi Sarathkumar also spoke about her liking for Vijay’s humble personality. She also confessed to being Vijay’s biggest fan, and she can go to any length to show her loyalty for the star. Actor Vijay’s father, director S A Chandrasekhar spoke about A. R. Mugadoss’ success rate in films, and stated with confidence that Sarkar would be a blockbuster. Later, music composer A. R. Rahman performed the song ‘Oru Viral Puratchi’ on stage, and the crowd cheered him.

When Vijay came on stage, fans began turning on flashlights on their mobile phones to welcome him. He began his speech by saying ”Nenchil kudiyirikkum nanba, nanbikal ” and his fans went berserk. He also said ”When I meet fans at such events, I feel happy. Thanks, AR Rahman sir for doing this film. Your association with Sarkar is like bagging an Oscar,”. He also hinted about his political ambition. He said ”The first thing I want to do if I become CM is to end corruption. The state needs a good leader”.
