Is 60 Vayadu Maaniram a remake of Godhi Banna Sadharana Mykattu?

In latest developments, producer Kalaipulli S. Thanu held a press conference to announce his latest film. To everyone’s surprise, the film was shot without any announcement and is almost ready for release in August. The producer announced that the title of his latest production is 60 Vayadu Maaniram, and it stars Vikram Prabhu, Prakash Raj, Samuthirakani and Indhuja in leading roles. The film has been directed by Radha Mohan. The music of the film has been composed by Ilaiyaraaja. Interestingly, Radha Mohan wrapped by the shoot of Kaatrin Mozhi starring Jyothika few days ago.
Taking to Twitter, Vikram Prabhu posted, ““#60VayaduMaaniram A long time dream to work with Director Radhamohan sir & a greater wish to be associated with Maestro the Legend Illayaraja Sir – finally both happen in one project. Have been hush hush about it till now but now extremely happy to share it with you all. Proud to be a part of this amazing team & wonderful movie.”

The film is said to be about a son, in search of his missing father, who is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. The story bears a striking similarity to the Kannada film, Godhi Banna Sadharana Mykattu. Directed by Hemanth Rao, the film bagged several awards including the Filmfare Best Actor Award for veteran Kannada actor Anant Nag. The film starred Rakshit Shetty, Shruthi Hariharan as well. An official announcement about this is yet to be made.
