Is Mohanlal AMMA’s new president?

Ever since actor Innocent announced his decision to step down from the post of President of AMMA, the Association Of Malayalam Movie Artists, reports are rife that actor Mohanlal will take up his position. It is reported that Mohanlal was offered this position on the condition that an election should not be held and that he will withdraw if it’s otherwise. A member of the Parliment, Innocent stood was the president of Amma for as long as 17 years.
It is also reported that actors Prithviraj and Remya Nambeesan will face action from the association for their views on the actress abduction case. It has to be noted that Ramya Nambeesan voiced her views on the arrest of former AMMA member and actor Dileep who is an accused in the abduction case, she said his arrest is a historic moment. She went on to say ”“Truth succeeds. Big Salute to Kerala police. Will be with dear friend till the last. It is indeed a historic moment for those who were eagerly waiting to know the truth. I don’t really know how to express my emotion right now. Hats off to Kerala police,” Remya is also a member of Women in Cinema Collective, which was formed after the attack against this case, and to make the film industry a better working environment for women. Prithviraj also publicly supported the actress.
