‘Kaala is a successful and profitable project say’ Wunderbar Films

It’s been a month since Kaala released. Apart from the positive response, the film has been receiving there were reports which stated that the film was a non-profitable venture for the production house, Wunderbar films. Taking to their official Twitter handle, Wunderbar films went on to dispel these rumours. The production house, owned by Rajinikanth’s daughter Aishwarya and son-in-law Dhanush, tweeted, “We would like to dispel rumours run in few articles on #Kaala. Contrary to it, #Kaala is a successful and profitable project for Wunderbar Films and we thank Superstar for the opportunity given to us. We also thank the audience for the positive response given to the film.”

A week ago reports emerged that Dhanush had agreed to pay distributors a sum of 40 crores as they have faced a loss. Dinamalar, a popular Tamil publication had mentioned in their report that Kaala had failed to meet expectations the producers expected, it further said that Kaala had only opened with 1,700 screens, while Pa Ranjith’s first film with Rajinikanth Kabali opened to 3000 screens.
