Kayamkulam Kochunni registers record-breaking opening!

Director Rosshan Andrrews’ Kayamkulam Kochunni starring Nivin Pauly in the lead opened in cinemas worldwide (351 theatres) on 11th October. This period drama is based on the life of Kochunni, who was regarded as the Robin Hood in Kerala during the pre independence time. The reviews on the film have been mostly positive with most viewers praising the theme of it and giving a thumbs up to Nivin Pauly’s performance.

Owing to the massive expeditions, the film has registered a massive opening on the first day – setting records. Currently, it is the only Malayalam film to earn a huge collection on its release. As per producers Gokulam Movies, the film has collected about 5.03 crores collection from Kerala on the first day.

According to trade analysts, the other non-Malayalam film which is said to hold a solid record in Kerala is Rajinikanth’s Kabali.
