Ever since it’s release Mahanati / Nadigaiyar Thilagam is creating the right kind of buzz. Based on the life of late actress Savitri, this film has recently gone to rake in over 1.5 million dollars at the box-office. From director Rajamouli to actor Mohanlal, everyone seems to be raving about the film. Directed by Nag Ashwin, a part of the film also focuses on the marital discord between Savitri and Gemini Ganesh, where he breaks her trust by having an affair with Pushpavalli. The film never really shows us any scenes of Gemini Ganesan and Pushpavalli. Owing to this actress Bindu Chandramouli, the actress who played Pushpavalli’s part in the film took to her social media account to share this statement “It’s very disappointing to have known that the makers have decided to cut out the whatever little it is, the character of Pushpavalli (after dubbing) and also an appearance of the character of her young daughter Rekha. Somehow, it’s more disappointing this time around. I had the wonderful opportunity of portraying a real-life character even if it was for one scene and a couple of song montages with Savithri’s character. The song n the scene have never made it to the cinemas.”
She also shared some stills from the film.
The actress was quick to delete her posts later, she posted a clarification saying she expressed disappointment and it was natural. She also stated ”I have nothing against the Mahanati team. They are the best I have worked with and I am not upset with any of them. It was just couple shots and not a big deal. Mahanati is a classic and let’s just appreciate it.”
