Mahesh Babu’s bank accounts frozen over non-payment of tax dues

Actor Mahesh Babu’s bank accounts have been frozen over non-payment of tax dues. The Hyderabad GST Commissionarate, stated that the Mahesh Babu’s appearance in films, advertisements, promoting products which are taxable, were not paid.

The GST department has attached his bank accounts in Axis Bank and ICICI Bank for an amount of Rs 7.35 million (Rs 73.5 lakh), which includes tax, interest and penalty. We have attached the bank accounts and started recovering… We have recovered Rs 4.2 million (Rs 42 lakh) from Axis Bank today. Balance, ICICI bank has to pay by on Friday,”

Mahesh Babu is yet to issue a statement regarding this. The actor is currently shooting for his 25th film Maharishi which is being directed by Vamsi Paidipally. The film is bankrolled jointly by Dil Raju, Ashwini Dutt and PVP.
