Malayalam actor Kalasala Babu passes away

Popular Malayalam movie actor Kalasala Babu passed away in Ernakulam, Kerala on 13th Night. The actor passed away due to due to cerebral hemorrhage. He was 68.
Born to He was the son of renowned Kathakali maestro Kalamandalam Krishnan Nair and Mohiniyattam dancer Kalyanikkutty Amma, the actor made his Malayalam movie debut in the year 1977 with the film Inayethedi. The actor has appeared in films with Malayalam cinema’s top stars including Mohanlal and Mammootty. After debuting in films, the actor went on to form a theatre group title Kalasala. The group has the credit of performing nine acclaimed plays.
Having starred in over 150 films in over four decades, Kalasala Babu was seen in a variety of roles, however, he gained fame for playing roles with negative shades. Some of his most popular films include Thuruppu Gulan, Runway, Pokkiriraja, Kaaryasthan and College Kumaran. Apart from that, he has also done theatre in Chalakudy Sarathy. He was also seen on the small screen in the serial title Kala. He is survived by his wife and two children
