List of Malayalam films to be screened at IFFK 2018

Two of Malayalam cinema’s most sensational films – Sudani from Nigeria and Ee.Ma.Yau have been selected for the competition section of the 23rd International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK). The event will be held in Thiruvananthapuram from December 7 to 13 this year. The jury members who selected the films were Sibi Malayil, George Kithu, Farooq Abdul Rahman, Dr T Anitha and Dr V Mohanakrishnan.
The event will also have the category ‘Malayalam cinema today’ which will feature Oath, Parava, Bhayanakam, Udalazham, Mayanadi, Bilathikkuzhal, Prathibhasam, Eeda, Kottayam, Humans of Someone, Sleeplessly Yours and Ave Maria.
It is said that the festival will give importance to screening Asian films and jury this year. However, just after its announcement, IFFK is the topic of discussion for other reasons. Director VC Abhilash who made the film Aalorukkam expressed disappointment as it didn’t feature the list of the film festival since the film even won the National Film Award for Best Film on Other Social Issues and Kerala State Film Award for the Best Actor for Indrans.
