Director Priyadarshan‘s magnum-opus film Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham which is currently being filmed is creating the right kind of buzz. Be it the glitzy starcast or the theme of the film, everyone is excited to watch this Malayalam historical-drama on the big screen. Now, recently released pictures from the film have increased the curiosity of film buffs. Mohanlal looks regal as the chief, while Arjun Sarja looks menacing in his avatar. Mohanlal‘s son Pranav Mohanlal and Priyadarshan’s daughter Kalyani Priyadarshan look like a dream, while Fazil, who introduced Mohanlal to films looks like a wise leader.
Starring Mohanlal in the lead, the highly anticipated film is based on the life of Kunjali Marakkar IV, who is most popular of the Marakkars. The Marakkars are known for organizing the first naval defense of the Indian coast. The film is produced by Antony Perumbavoor, Santhosh T. Kuruvilla and C.J. Roy on a whopping budget of 100 crores. National Award winning art director Sabu Cyril has worked on creating a huge ship which is crucial in the film. The cinematography of the film is by Thirunavukarasu, who recently worked on Rajinikanth’s Petta.
