Mollywood to raise funds for Kerala Flood Relief in Abu Dhabi

Mollywood is all set to take over UAE! Don’t get us wrong, the film industry isn’t moving overseas but the celebrities of the Malayalam film industry will head to the exotic land, to feature in a charity concert. The event will be held in Abu Dhabi Armed Forces Officers Club.

Proceeds from the concert ticket sales will go towards the Kerala rehabilitation project launched by the chief minister of Kerala Pinarayi Vijayan, after the devastating Kerala floods. Earlier in August, the floods destroyed 3/4th Kerala which resulted in the loss of lives, homes and goods. The event has been titled ‘Onnannu Nammal‘ which means We are together.

Speaking to the press at UAE, Mohanlal, along with managing director of South at Star India Private Limited K. Madhavan, announced that through the event they aim to raise a minimum of 5 crores.

Mohanlal further added “The concert will feature members of AMMA (Association of Malayalam Movie Artists) who include movie stars, dancers, singers. The concert will be five-hours long, split into six segments. There will be a special laser show using the latest 3D mapping technology,”.

In new developments, Mohanlal went on to say that actor Dileep, who has been accused in the actress assault case will not be attending the event since he is not a part of AMMA. However, stars such as Mammootty and Nivin Pauly sent video messages stating that they will be present at the event.

Special seats at the event will be at Rs25 lakhs. The event will be held on December 7th.
