Peranbu wins hearts at the Shangai Film Festival

National award-winning Director Ram’s film Peranbu starring Padma Shri Mammootty in the lead has been screened at the Shangai International Film Festival. And audiences who watched the film have fallen in love with it! So much so that director Ram was surrounded by audiences soon after the screening of the film. They began clicking pictures of the director.  An elated Ram took to his social media to share the picture.

Actor Mammootty too took to his Twitter handle to share about the amazing response the film has received.

Peranbu is said to revolve around the life of a middle-class man, who works abroad as a taxi driver.
The film stars Anjali, Sarathkumar, Samuthirakani and ‘Thanga Meengal’ fame Baby Sadhana. The young actress will be seen as Mammootty’s daughter in the movie. The film also stars transwoman Anjali Ameer, who will play a pivotal role in the film.

Peranbu first premiered at the 47th International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) in January. It was adjudged as of the top 20 films in the festival. The film will release in Tamil and Malayalam.
