Rajinikanth heaps praise on Vijay Sethupathi

The audio launch of Petta was a grand affair, as it saw the film’s lead actors Rajinikanth, Simran, Trisha, Vijay Sethupathi, producer Kalanadhi Maran among others seated in a full-house stadium. Speaking at the audio launch, Rajinikanth heaped praised on Vijay Sethupathi who plays Jithu. He said ”Initially when I was narrated the script, I was wondering who will play this character. When I was told that Vijay Sethupathi will play the role I was very happy. He is such a good person and a good actor”.

Vijay Sethupathi also shared his experience of working with Rajinikanth. He said ‘‘Acting with Rajini sir is a dream come true. Not even in my wildest dreams, did I imagine that I will act with a star of this stature,” says Vijay Sethupathi.

Vijay Sethupathi appeared in his first full-length role in the film Thenmerku Paruvakaatru (2010). Since then the actor has gone to do over 25 films.

Directed by Karthik Subbaraj, Petta also stars Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui who will be making his Tamil film debut. The film will release on Pongal 2018. (read about other Pongal 2019 releases here)
