Sarkar tops IMDb’s list of Most Anticipated Indian Films of the year

The Internet Movie Database, popularly known as IMDb is a website which features content related to world films, television programs, home videos, and video games, and internet streams. It’s special for users as they get a chance to write fan reviews, summaries, list and rate their favourite films. In the list ‘Most Anticipated Indian Movies and Shows’, under the Indian Spotlight section, director A. R. Murgadoss‘ Sarkar starring Vijay has taken the number 1 spot. The film’s official production house, Sun Pictures took to their Twitter handle to share the news. Sarkar is slated to release this Diwali, and fans are already excited. Proof? The Sarkar teaser has raked in 1.3 million likes on YouTube making it one of the most liked videos on the video platform. The teaser has Vijay stating that he will be a corporate criminal in the film. A few days ago A. R. Murgadoss stated that Vijay’s character will be based on Sundar Pichai, the CEO of Google. The film also stars Keerthy Suresh, Varalakshmi Sarthkumar and Radha Ravi in prominent roles. Sarkar marks A. R. Murgadoss and Vijay’s third collaboration. They previously teamed up for Thuppakki and Kaththi.

The IMDb list also features director Shankar’s 2.0 at fourth place. Made on a budget of ₹543 crore, 2.0 starring superstar Rajinikanth and Bollywood star Akshay Kumar 2.0 is the most expensive Indian film made to date. Mohanlal’s Odiyan at sixth place and Vijay Deverakonda’s follows with Taxiwala at the seventh place.
