SIIMA 2018 Nominations: Stunning VFX shots of Baahubali 2

The Baahubali series is one of the biggest movie franchise India has made. Directed by S. S. Rajamouli, the film went on to be celebrated in India and abroad too. With fans in China and Japan creating special pages and manga for the characters in the film, Baahubali 2 has witnessed unprecedented appreciation from audiences all around the globe.

Baahubali was also appreciated for it’s massive and grandeur VFX which took everyone to the kingdom of Mahishmati. While V. Srinivas Mohan worked on the VFX of Baahubali, R. C. Kamalakannan worked on VFX of Baahubali 2. Makuta VFX was chosen as principal visual effects studio. Baahubali 2 had at least 2500 VFX shots and 35 studios from various parts of the globe had worked on the project, including a small studio in Tashkent (Uzbekistan). The film boasted of some iconic scenes including the scene where Baahubali cuts off a man’s head for misbehaving with women. Baahubali 2 starred Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka, Tamannaah, Sathyaraj, and Ramya Krishnan among others. It won three National Film Awards: Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment, Best Special Effects and Best Stunt Choreographer. It has been nominated in the Best Film (Telugu) category in SIIMA 2018.
