Dhanush and Simbu

Dhanush is all set to appear in this year’s first film – Vada Chennai, which is set to hit screens on 17th October. Directed by Vetrimaaran, the film will release in three parts. Speaking at the press meet of Vada Chennai, the duo revealed some interesting facts about the film. It has to be noted that the two decided to work on Vada Chennai about 10 years ago, however, things never set off. After a while, it was announced to Dhanush that Simbu would be playing the character, Anbu, the lead in the film. Someone close to Dhanush then suggested that he can take up the role of Kumar, a supporting character in the same film who will have a screen time of 30-40 minutes.

On listening to the suggestion Dhanush said ”When someone I know told me to play the role of Kumar, a supporting character in the film, I laughed it off. I told him, I am a big-hearted person, but not to an extent where I can play that role. I am not okay with it. Later, Vetrimaaran approached me with the same film, but I felt it wasn’t right to do it. So he prepared some new scripts for me, one was titled Sudhadi. But time brought us back together and we began working on Vada Chennai”.
