Kollywood has been struck by nature’s fury, however, this isn’t taking place in Tamil Nadu, but in Himachal Pradesh! 140 members of the crew of actor Karthi‘s Dev have been stranded in Kullu Manali as the place is witnessing unprecedented floods. Because of this, the production house of the film has faced a loss of one and a half crores.
Karthi, who is the lead actor in the film wasn’t there with the crew members, but he was stuck in heavy traffic for about four to five hours. In a press release actor Karthi said ” “We actually had to shoot particular scenes in the ambiance of rainfalls or snowfalls. Apparently, things were perfect with gentle rains and even the weather forecast didn’t have an alarming situation, which was until yesterday. But the situation got worsened with unceasing landslides and floods, where the huge rocks started rolling down the hills and hampering the vehicular traffic and movement. I was stranded inside the car for nearly 4-5 hours and was later insisted to stay in a nearby village for safety purpose. What’s more deplorable is that 140 members are being isolated there without any communication at the mountaintop.”

With the roads blocked, local authorities have stated that it would take 28 hours to clear the passage for vehicles to go through. Directed by Rajat Ravishankar, Dev also stars Rakul Preet, Prakash Raj, Ramya Krishnan, Amrudha, Vignesh and Vamsi.
On 25th September Karthi went on to say he has landed safe in Chennai but his key crew members have been stuck in Himachal.
Friends,
Few of us came back to Chennai last night. Director, Cameraman and crew are still in Manali but they are safe. Since there is no power and roads are cut off they will come down after a day. Hope rain stops soon!— Actor Karthi (@Karthi_Offl) September 25, 2018
