Joseph Vijay, better well-known as Vijay is one of the most popular names in the Indian film industry. Having starred in over 61 films, Vijay has a huge fan following and a commanding screen presence that’s made him an A-list actor. The actor has worked with several ace directors including Shankar, A. R. Murgadoss, S. J. Suryah among others. However, did you know that there is only one director who holds the credit of directing Vijay in his first 10 films?
All of Vijay’s first 10 films were directed by his father, filmmaker S. A. Chandrasekhar. Vijay’s debut film as a child artist was Vetri (1984), he then went on to star in several films as a child actor. Naalaiya Theerpu, his first film that featured him a full-length role as an adult was also directed by his father. However, it was the film Once More, that met with positive success at the box-office. Apart from Vijay, the film starred veteran actors Sivaji Ganesan and Saroja Devi. S. A. Chandrasekhar and Vijay’s last collaboration was Nenjinile which released in the year 1999.
