How will 2.0, India’s costliest film recover its cost? That’s the question everyone has in mind after it was announced that the film has been made on a budget of over 500 crores. At the trailer launch of the film Rajinikanth took to the stage to share his opinion of the film. He said “Mark my words, this movie will be a super hit.” He went on to say that the film doesn’t need any more publicity as the movie will be spoken about worldwide.
He was in praise of the producer of Lyca, Subashkaran. He said “when I first started filming this movie I was in ill health. I was wearing a suit which weighted 14 kgs and shooting in the heat, I just could not perform. I lost concentration. I told Shankar to let me go and I told him that I want to quit. He said sir if the suit is the problem then we can shoot without it. Then after I finished Kabali shoot my health got worse, I told the producer of 2.0 that I will back out. But he came to me held my hand and said if you want to take 4 months break or even 4 years break, please take do so, we will wait for you.”
He went on say that when Sivaji was made it was double the budget of a normal Tamil film, and when Enthiran was made Sun pictures were hesitant to make the film because of the theme and the budget but that film crossed and won big at the box office. 2.0 will also be bigger than expected.
