Trisha begins the year on a high with Petta

Trisha – the name in-sync with the heartbeat of all 90’s kids. The 35-year-old actress has been an iconic heroine in the south industry for more than a decade and just as when we were starting to think her magic might be wearing off, all it took was one yellow kurta for her to sweep us back into her fandom. The greatest achievement for an actor would be when characters played which are remembered even years after the release. Bhuvana from Saamy, Jessie from Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa can never be forgotten and this year Trisha has given us a much more unforgettable name “Jaanu”.

This name will forever be etched in the memories of everyone who has watched the film. Even though Trisha had a weak start in 2018 with lackluster films like Mohini, her films 96 did the magic and it will be long before people can come out of its spell. 96 recently reached another milestone, completing its 100 days. Trisha has also been on an award-receiving spree for her performance in 96. She won best actress for the year 2018 in both Behind woods gold medals and Vikatan awards.

Other than mohini and 96 Trisha had also starred in the Malayalam film ‘Hey Jude‘ opposite Nivin Pauly which was a simple heartwarming film.

Following the high of 96 Trisha enters 2019 with a blast starring opposite Superstar Rajinikanth in the much-awaited film Petta. Though her role is relatively smaller in the movie, she did well what was given to her.

Following Petta the movies, she has got in her line include one with Vignesh Shivan which is rumored to include Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara. This seems like an interesting project and let’s hope we get further announcements soon. Sathuranga Vettai 2 with Aravindswamy has been waiting for long for its release and might get a release date this year.

Trisha has also got her solo venture Garjanai inspired from the Anushka Sharma starter NH10. Amit Bhargav and Vamsi Krishna are also part of the film.

Trisha is in one of the greatest peaks in her career, hope she continues riding the high tide and brings us more Jessies and Jaanus to remember in 2019.
