Kamal Haasan mourns the demise of M. S. Rajeswari

Singer M. S. Rajeswari who has sung over 500 film songs in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada films has passed away at the age of 85 due to age-related ailments. The late singer was the voice behind several popular songs including ‘Pudhu pennin manathai’ from Parasakthi and ‘Naan Sirithal Deepawali’ from Nayagan. She was the first playback singer for Kamal Haasan. She sang the popular song ‘Appavum Neeye Appavum Neeye’ song from his debut film ‘Kalathur Kannamma’ in 1960. The actor took to his Twitter handle to condole the demise of MS Rajeswari.

In his tweet, he said ”The song Ammavum Neeye was one of the reasons for the success of Kalathur Kamal. MS Rajeswari who sang the song has left us today. My deepest condolences to her fans and family members.”
