The first look poster of Aashiq Abu’s Virus goes viral

Much before the Kerala Floods, Kerala was hit by a deadly outbreak – the Nipah virus. Said to spread from diseased bats, the virus claimed several lives in Kerala. Now, director Aashiq Abu has decided to make a film on this. Virus is said to portray the way the state handled this situation. It will be based on true stories; medical information and inputs for which have been taken from medical professionals at hospitals.
Within an hour of the poster release, it became the talk of social media, with pages even making a video on it. The poster got several shares on social media pages as well.
Aashiq Abu’s wife, actress Rima Kallingal will play the role of Lini Puthussery, the brave nurse who died battling the virus. It is reported that the other characters too will be based on real people. Apart from her, the film features a plethora of stars including Revathy, Parvathy, Asif Ali, Tovino Thomas, Kalidas Jayaram, Remya Nambeeshan, Dileesh Pothan, Soubin Shahir and Chemban Vinod. This is one of the few times a film features a huge star cast, and it’s winning the attention of movie buffs.
Scripted by Muhsin Perari, Sharfu and Suhas, the team will begin the shoot for the film later this year.
It has to be announced that National award-winning director Jayaraj has decided to make a film on Nipah virus as well. The name of his film is Raudram.
