Watch: Highlights from the press meet of Vada Chennai

Vada Chennai Press Meet

Director Vetrimaaran and Dhanush‘s film Vada Chennai is all set to release on 18th October. The team held a press meet to speak about the film, much before it hits theatres. Speaking at the press meet the director said ”I’ve written a 1000 page story, and given that films have a run time of only 2.30 hours, we were wondering about we would go about making the film. We first began working on Polladavan, then after that Aadukalam. Then after I did Visaranai, that was the time Dhanush was establishing himself as a producer. And thanks to a producer like him, I was able the shoot the film for 29 months.” He also went on to say that Simbu was first approached for that project. And that he auditioned several actors when the project first finalized, but none of them except Andrea are a part of the film.

The film’s lead actor, Dhanush announced that Vetrimaaran and he will collaborate for another film before making Vada Chennai 2. He also said ”when Vetrimaaran first approached Simbu I told him how happy I was. But after so the film went for one full round it came back to me.” He was always in praise of Aishwarya Rajesh and Andrea’s performances film. He also lauded Santosh Narayanan’s and said he is a gifted musician. He also became a bit emotional speaking about a recent death of a cousin. He went on to say that nothing is permanent in life.

Aishwarya Rajesh took to the stage to say ”I didn’t know the story of the film. I believed in the director and did my part well. I got a friend in Andrea after I worked on the film with her.” Andrea said she has nothing much to say and spoke positively that she will meet the audience at the ‘real’ success meet of the film.
