Contestants on Bigg Boss season 2 Tamil

The TRP giant which had everyone’s attention in 2017 is back! From what we see the excitement is also twice that of the first season. The show Is Bigg Boss season 2. The popular reality show is once again hosted by none other than the ‘ulaganayagan’ Kamal Haasan. If u ask me I would say Kamal Hassan was the real winner of Bigg Boss 1. He used the platform to register his anger and disappointment on the ongoing government. In most people’s mind through the most powerful medium known as small screen.

With him starting a party and officially entering politics all we can expect is more political analogies, controversial statements and a passive or active promotion of his political party. Apart from that here are the list of the contestants and a little background about them.

YASHIKA ANAND

The IAMK actress who debuted in Dhruvangal 16 is here from the success of her recent adult comedy Iruttu Araiyil Murattu Kuthu. Although she makes her debut in D 16, her claim to fame was with her second film. With NOTA starring Vijay Devarkonda and Maniyar Kudumbam yet to be released this year she would hope that big boss would be a boost to her career and fame. And she is expected the Oviya of 2018.

PONNAMBALAM

One of the most sought out antagonists of the 90s and early 2000 is most known by the people of Tamil Nadu as the guy who hits Rajinikanth in 1994 blockbuster Muthu. He looks like the one of the very few older contestants of this season. And it would be interesting to see how he survives with the younger lot.

MAHAT

He was last seen in Vekat Prabhu‘s sequel of Chennai 600028 – 2 had a great start to his acting career starring along Vijay and Ajith – the two stalwarts of Kollywood in Mankatha and Jilla respectively. Mahats entry to Big Boss would of a simple motive of getting is career back in line by getting chances in movies other than that of Vekatprabhus’.

RJ VAISHNAVI

She is a journalist and radio jockey in Chennai fm 104.8. She is the least popular contestant of this season or the commoner entry of the house. She is most likely to gain more fame than any in the house as she is the least known by the contestant.

DANIEL ANNIE POPE

He became famous through the dialogue ‘mfriendae love matterae’’ from Idharkuthaanae Aasai Pataai Baalakumara is doing films in regular intervals as a comedian. His entry would contribute to the comical side in the house.

ANAND VAIDYANATHAN

Whose known to the Tamil audience as a voice trainee in Vijay TV‘s Super Singer is the oldest contestant in big boss he is the one who looks like a misfit in the house this season.

JANANI IYER

Who debuted has heroine in 2011s Bala movie Avan Ivan opposite Vishal made a good name for herself through her 2014 hit movie Thegidi. Since all her three films released last year failed at the box office she would hope that big boss entry would put her name back at the race.

RAMYA NSK

Who started her singing career in 2008 has sung in all 4 South languages but was well known to the Tamil audience through her melody for maestro Ilayaraaja’s Sayndhu Sayndhu from Neethane Yen Ponvasantham. With great initials and lineage attached to her name she is expected to be in the good books of people.

SENRAYAN

Who debuted in 2007 Dhanush starred Polladhavan is best known for his performance in Moodar Koodam. Both his casual behaviour and nativity would remember Bharani from season 1 and we can expect all the drama we saw from Bharani in season 1 from Senrayan.

MUMTAZ

The actress who debuted in Monisha En Monalisa was at her peak in the early 2000s due to the song “katti pudi katti pudi” da from Kushi is another contestant in the above 40 category. With all her acting done and dusted there is no actual reason for entering the house other than a change of routine as she said in the inaugural episode.

MAMATHI CHARI

Who was a former host in Vijay TV started her career in the same channel hosting a show Vanakkam Thamizha and then she hosted reality game shows such as Jillunu oru jodi which made her popular then went on to become a radio jockey in Big fm 92.7 and came back to small screen as an actor in famous serial Vaani Raani.

RIYTHVIKA

She is known for her role both in Madras and Kabali, as she said doesn’t have any films in her kitty and is here to gain popularity and hopefully some movie chances after the 100 days.

AISHWARYA DUTTA

Who debuted in Tamiluku En Ondrai Aluthavum in 2014 Has done one movie a year since her debut. She has chosen the most influential platform to get her name recognized among the masses and the industry.

SHARIQ

Son of the famous duo of small screen Riyaz Khan and Uma Riyaz has done as an antagonist in the movie Pencil in 2016. And the duo has chosen the right platform to launch their son.

THADI BALAJI and NITHYA

A famous TV host and actor and his estranged wife Nithya are on the show. These two are the most controversial contestants as the difficulty in their marriage become a public read through all online media’s and eventually they ended in a divorce. But with them both entering the house it makes me think that the whole controversy around their married life and divorce looks like they can get back together. After all it’s just a TRP war and everything is fine in war and love. But I sincerely hope that’s not true.

With all said the expectation around the second season of is more as the contestants know what this show can do to them both on the positive and negative side as they have seen it in the first season. So it would be really interesting to see how they project themselves knowing the consequences. All the family dramas in Tamil Nadu will obviously reduce as the mother of all dramas starts. Let all our dinners from now be served with the music of Big Boss for the next 100 days.
