2.0 has been nominated for the highest recognition in Sound Design. The film’s sound designer Resul Pookutty tweeted ”tweeted, “Absolutely delighted to announce #2Point0 is nominated for the highest recognition in Sound Design , Golden Reel Award at @mpseorg in USA, I’m elated… Indian Cinema march forward… thank you so much #TeamCanaries @shankarshanmugh @arrahman @rajinikanth.”

Resul Pookutty has previously been awarded the Academy Award, BAFTA and has been awarded Padma Shri by the Indian government.

2.0 has also been nominated in the Foreign Language Feature category as the best feature film. Directed by Shankar 2.0 is India’s most expensive film made on a budget of over 400 crores. Starring Superstar Rajinikanth, Amy Jackson, and Akshay Kumar, the film went on to collect over 500 crores at the box-office. The music of the film had been composed by A. R. Rahman.
