Chinmayi and Rakul Preet fight off internet trolls

Internet trolls and social media harassment is nothing new for women especially for those who have been vocal about their thoughts, opinions, and choices in life, but sometimes these abuses get off-limits.
Rakul Preet Singh is a pan-Indian star but her choice of clothes is a big matter of concern for these internet trolls. These stupid comments can be ignored but sometimes women have to take a stand and tell the world their body isn’t public property and that’s what Rakul did.
For the people who have so much hatred !! This is the tweet( or thread ) I replied to. This guy pulled off his tweet immediately. Now tell me if any of you would react calmly ! ? pic.twitter.com/7FUkKzCsfl

Chinmayi has gotten a string of such abuses. It was already so sad to see our community not stand up against her abuser, on top of that she is being harassed online with unbelievable amount of profane and crass words. These are by-products of toxic masculinity that is sadly being even accepted by women in our society.
By default I, am just a singer, gets a lot of rape tweets, DM, emails every week. A lot of men think they are entitled to women’s bodies. Here is one more from my DM today. @Twitter wont do anything and the police are anyway overburdened. pic.twitter.com/gvCZ6FDGGC

These people don’t understand the meaning of privacy and have the audacity to question on whether she has ever cheated on her husband. Are they expecting her jump into the fire and prove she is “pathini” ?!! It’s pitiful that these trollers don’t have better things to do in life
Last one for now I promise –
When random men want me to prove to them that I am a ‘patthini’ and haven’t slept with anyone else except my husband. As I said – we tolerate a LOT. We also Block, mute a LOT more.

Also now here is a small sample.
Check the tweets that have responded to me. Check the language. You’ll see they all have a certain pattern. Across languages and across states – Abuse is the one common thing a lot of them love.— Chinmayi Sripaada (@Chinmayi) January 18, 2019
More strength to these women who don’t tolerate these trolls and fight back instead. This situation will change and has to change!!
