”Working with Mammootty has made me a better director” says Mahi V Raghva who has directed Yatra. Speaking to the media, Mahi V Raghav said ”Mammootty has done the role of YSR so well, I can tell that no one else could have done this role.” He further went on to say “After seeing Mammootty approach the characters, it is now easier for me to direct other actors. I know his methods and techniques. I told him that he has made my job easier going forward as I can go and handle any actor now,”
He then went on to reveal that Mammootty wrote the entire script in Malayalam to get his Tamil right. He also had two assistants who helped him deliver the Telugu lines with perfection. He said ”“He got into the soul and spirit of YSR character and interpreted it in his own way. That’s the reason why it feels so real,”
Mahi V Raghav also spoke about how the audience is sure to have an emotional connect and remember YSR’s after they’ve watched the film.
Yatra which releases on 8th February also stars Jagapathi Babu, Sudheer Babu, Suhasini Maniratnam and Rao Ramesh.
