Earlier in February cinematographer P. C. Sreeram had announced that he is working on Praana, a film with only one character played by Nithya Menen Now, the film is making headlines once again. Directed by National award-winning filmmaker V. K. Prakash, the trailer of the film has been screened at the Cannes Film Festival, and is grabbing the attention of moviegoers.
The film also marks the return of P. C. Sreeram in Malayalam cinema, his last outing was Koodum Thedi which released in the year 1985. Praana is said to be shot in sync sound format, and the Oscar-winning sound designer Resul Pookutty has worked on the project. Renowned Jazz musician Louis Banks has composed the music for the movie.
The film will be released in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada. It is said that Nithya Menen had to enact each scene four times for the film. Considering that there will be only one character throughout the film, it would be quiet a challenge for the audience to respond to it. However, given that the Nithya is a versatile actress, the challenge is half-completed.
