Popular humorist Crazy Mohan passes away

Popular humorist Crazy Mohan passed away at 2 p.m in Chennai today (10. 6. 2019). He died due to a cardiac arrest. He was born as Mohan Rangachari and went on to become one of the well known theatre personalities. He began his career as a dramatist with the play ‘Crazy Thieves in Paalavakkam’ for S Ve Shekher’s Natakapriya. He then formed Crazy Creations.

He made his film debut with K. Balachander’s Poikaal Kudhirai, which was the adaptation of his own play ‘Marriage Made In Saloon’. The Tamil Nadu state government awarded him with ‘Kalaimamani’ title for excellence in the field of arts and literature.

He went on to collaborate with Kamal Haasan for several films including Apoorva Sagodharargal, Michael Madana Kama Rajan, Magalir Mattum, Avvai Shanmughi, Sathi Leelavathi, Thenali, Panchathanthiram, Pammal K Sambandam and Vasool Raja MBBS. He wrote dialogues for Rajinikanth’s ‘Arunachalam’ and more recently for SS Rajamouli’s ‘Naan Ee’.
