The Big Reveal: Saravanan is the actor who played Christopher in Ratsasan

When director Ram Kumar’s film Ratsasan released, audience were shocked, surprised and scared throughout the film. The reason for it, is the film’s theme which was based on a serial killer, the haunting background score and the film’s antagonist Christopher. The character was disguised in prosthetic make-up to play the role of a boy with Progeria – a genetic disorder where the person experiences premature old age. Because of this the real identity of the actor was unknown. Now, in it’s 25th day celebration, director Ram Kumar introduced two actors who played the role. One is Yasin who played the young Christopher and the other is Saravanan who played the adult version of Christopher. It was also revealed that Saravanan played the role of the roe of the mother in the film as well.

Saravanan featured as Salim in Vijay Antony’s Naan, a brief role that didn’t last for over two minutes. For Ratsasan, Saravanan is said to have been on a liquid diet, and his health took a toll while doing so. Speaking at the press meet, he said how elated he is to have been a apart of the film and that it feels like he is celebrating Deepavali.

Ratsasan starred Vishnu Vishal and Amala Paul in the lead. It was raved by superstar Rajinikanth and director Shankar. Rajinikanth even praised Saravanan’s performance in the film.
