Trisha rallies against child labour

12th June marks World Day Against Child Labour. It was launched by the The International Labour Organization (ILO) to raise awareness about child labour.
Actress Trisha, was a part of a signature campaign-cum-rally organized by UNICEF and the Tamil Nadu Government, in Chennai. Trisha is the first actor from South India to be honored with the UNICEF celebrity advocate status.

The pretty actress will lend her voice to several other issues faced by children in Tamil Nadu and Kerala such as health-related issue including anemia, early marriage, and child abuse. She will also support the importance of educating the girl child and how it adds value to the society.

Rajinikanth’s daughter Soundarya Rajinikanth also shared a Tweet that advocated against child labour. The Tweet featured the banner of Rajinikanth’s fan club ‘Rajini Makkal Mandram’ which said ‘Children are meant to learn not earn’.
