Vijay Awards 2018: Nayanthara, A. R. Rahman win big

The 10th Annual Vijay Awards, one of Kollywood’s most-awaited awards was held on 3rd June, Sunday evening. It was a glitzy affair as actors including Dhanush, Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi were present at the event. Music directors A. R. Rahman, Anirudh Ravichander were other celebrities who were present at the event.

While the film Vikram Vedha swept away with the maximum number of awards, Mersal was another favourite at the awards night. A. R. Rahman won the award for Best Music Director for the film Kaatru Veliyidai, Nayanthara won the award for Best Actress for her performance in the film Aramm, she also won the award for Favourite Heroine.

Dulquer Salmaan presented the award to Nayanthara and is known to have complimented her on her looks. Interestingly, Nayanthara’s alleged beau, director Vignesh ShivN posed with her lady love and her awards. He posted the picture on social media captioning it ”With my award and all her awards ??? 🙂 (( Mind voice : Namma eppo ipdi award ahhh vaangi indha pulla kitta kudukaporomoo ???))” (Translation: My Award and her awards. Wondering when I will bag awards and show them to her)

He also congratulated Vijay Sethupathi, who won the Best Actor award for his performance in the film Vikram Vedha.

Director Atlee won the award for Best Director for his film Mersal.

The Favourite Hero Award wasn’t listed at the event this year; instead, there was an award for Best Entertainer of the Year which was presented to actor Dhanush.

The actor and music director Anirudh Ravichander, popularly known as DnA, the duo took to the stage to even sing a song together.
