5 things you can expect from the North American Film Awards

Fans of Malayalam cinema in the United States and Canada are in for a treat, as the prestigious North American Film Awards, will be held on July 1st in New York and on 2nd July in Toronto. The NAFA aim to discover, recognize and celebrate the best filmmakers and artists of Malayalam cinema. Started in 2017, the award will host its third edition in 2018. Based on an online voting system, the winners of the awards have been declared.
Fahadh Faasil has been named the Best Actor critics for his performance in Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum, while Dulquer Salmaan has been named the Best Actor Popular for his performances in the film Solo and Parava Here are five things you can expect at the awards show.
1. Celebrities, Malayalam cinema’s most notable stars such as Fahadh Faasil, Dulquer Salmaan, Parvathy, Manju Warrier will be present at the event. When was the last time you saw this glitzy star cast in one frame?
2. Music composer Gopi Sunder who is the winner of Best Music Director for the films Take off and Udaharanam Sujatha will be present at the event. It is needless to say that the popular music composer will treat the audience to some lovely songs at the event.
3. Not just that, singers and award-winners Vijay Yesudhas and Sithara will croon to lovely melodies – even if it is for a brief time.
3. Tovino Thomas, the winner of Youth Icon and NAFA outstanding performance actor is sure to be present at the event, which means the youth will be rooting for him.
4. Interestingly the decision of the user who voted in NAFA website and the jury of India’s National Awards have great taste in spotting talent. Wondering how? That’s because award-winners Fahadh Faasil and Parvathy who won for Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum and Take Off respectively, have also been adjusted as Best Actors by NAFA. It would be quite amazing to see National award-winners, grace the NAFA!
5. If this wasn’t enough, NAFA has also promised that this year’s event will be bigger than the previous. We’re sure the event will be a grand success.
