The beginning of 2018 began on a positive note for films. In Tamil, ‘Thaana Serndha Koottam’ directed by Vignesh ShivN headed for a positive start and managed to cash in decent numbers at the box office. Sketch starring Vikram, could not do as much and failed to win the support of audience and critics. Gulebagavali starring Prabhu Deva and Hansika didn’t manage to bring it the numbers. In Malayalam Aadhi starring Mohanlal’s son, Pranav Mohanlal performed well at the box office. Street Lights starring Mammootty took off to a solid opening at the box office, making sure that a film starring a top league actor gets a huge opening. Hey Jude starring Nivin Pauly in the lead also performed well at the box office. In Telugu Bhaagamathie starring Anushka took off to an excellent start and managed to win the praise of audience and critics alike. The small-budget film Tholi Prema turned out to be the surprise hit of the year. Ram Charan’s latest release Rangasthalam is probably the biggest grossing film in Telugu among the other Telugu releases of this year. Now that the first quarter of the year is over, here’s are the most-anticipated films one can look forward to for the months to come.
