Samantha and Naga Chaitanya to clash at the box office

We had previously reported that Naga Chaitanya’s film Sailaja Reddy Alludu has been postponed from Its initial date of release (30th August) due to the Kerala Floods. We now hear that the new date of release is likely to be in the second week of September. Although this sounds any other film’s release, there’s a twist to it. Actress Samantha’s film U-Turn is expected to release on 13th September, which would be during the same week (or day) of her husband, Naga Chaitanya’s film release.

If this is true, then it would be the first time a couple’s film is clashing at the box-office. Although some reports suggest that one of the films would be postponed, there has been no official announcement about confirming or denying it.

Sailaja Reddy Alludu has been directed by Maruthi, and also stars Ramya Krishnan and Anu Emmanuel. While Samantha’s U-Turn has been directed by Pawan Kumar, and is a remake of the Kannada film of the same name.

The trailer of Samantha’s Tamil film, Seema Raja will also be released on 13th September.
