Vaadivaasal - Suriya

While Vetrimaaran is currently occupied shooting for the sequel film ‘Viduthalai’, his collaboration with Suriya, titled ‘Vaadivaasal’, is facing yet another delay. The project was initially announced in 2020, and the preliminary shooting for the movie concluded quite some time ago.

Suriya, a prominent actor in the Kollywood industry, is presently engrossed in filming his upcoming project ‘Kanguva’ under the direction of Siva. This fictional fantasy movie is set to be released in 3D across ten different languages. Following the completion of ‘Kanguva’, Suriya was initially scheduled to commence shooting for ‘Vaadivaasal’ with Vetrimaaran. However, recent reports suggest a postponement in the filming of the movie.

Apparently, Vetrimaaran is currently occupied shooting for the movie ‘Viduthalai Part 2’, which features Soori and Vijay Sethupathi. This has led to speculations that his collaboration with Suriya will experience a delay.

According to reports, ‘Viduthalai’ is aiming for a year-end release. On the other hand, Suriya is expected to wrap up the shooting for ‘Kanguva’ by September 2023 and subsequently begin work on another film instead of ‘Vaadivaasal’. Although the movie commenced its filming in 2020 and the test shooting is already complete, it will now proceed with full-scale production once Vetrimaaran and Suriya fulfill their respective commitments to their ongoing projects.

Media reports indicate that Suriya’s next venture will be in collaboration with director Sudha Kongara, while the music for the film will be composed by GV Prakash Kumar. An official announcement regarding this project is eagerly anticipated. Sudha Kongara and Suriya previously worked together on the film ‘Soorarai Pottru’.
