The Vice President of India launches NTR biopic starring Nandamuri Balakrishna
It was a star-studded affair in Hyderabad’s Ramakrishna studios this morning as the much-awaited biopic of NTR was launched by India’s vice president Venkaiah Naidu. Given that NT Rama Rao is a historic name in Telugu cinema and politics, the vice president spoke about how a biopic on NTR would honor the actor’s life.
The film is based on the film of the late NT Rama Rao who was an actor, former chief minister of Andhra Pradesh and TDP founder. The film stars NTR’s son, Nandamuri Balakrishna in the lead. Balakrishna was seen adorning heavy jewelry and a crown, dressed as Duryodhana at the muhurtam shot of the film. Directed by Teja, this film will chronicle the life of NTR, including the phase of his life before he became an icon.Reports also suggest that Balakrishna is closely working with director Teja as he wants the film to feature some lesser know details about his father. The film will be released in Telugu and Hindi, and later be dubbed and released in other languages.
Produced by Balakrishna, Sai Korrapati, and Vishnu Vardhan Induri, this film will have music by Baahubali music director M. M. Keeravani. Details about the rest of the cast and crew are yet to be finalized.
It has to be noted that about six months ago, Ram Gopal Varma announced that he would be making a film on the life of NTR titled Lakshmi’s NTR. The film was said to portray NTR’s life from the point of view of his second wife. However, there hasn’t been any news about it since.
Well, here’s hoping that director Teja’s NTR biopic will an interesting watch.
