Vikram’s Mahavir Karna to go on floors this year

‘Chiyaan Vikram‘ is all set to enthrall audiences in a brand new avatar this year. The actor will play the role of Karna, a crucial character in Hindu epic Mahabharat. Directed by RS Vimal, Vikram will star in Mahavir Karna, which is said to be shot on a budget of over 300 crores. The principal shoot is said to begin this October in Hyderabad.
Vikram is no stranger to transforming his body for a role in his films. He is already working with internationally acclaimed stunt directors and trainers to undergo a physical transformation. The makers are planning to release the film in Hindi and Tamil. Film editor Shameer Mohammed, who has worked in movies such as Charlie, Swathantryam Ardharathryil, and Angamaly Diaries is the editor of the film. The rest of the cast and crew is yet to be finalized.
Initially, Prithviraj was approached to play the role of Karna. However, he later backed out citing date issues.
Meanwhile, Vikram is currently working on Saamy Square, a sequel to his super-hit film Saamy (2003).
