Kalaimamani awards 2019: Vijay Sethupathi made it to the list in 2017

After a hiatus of eight years, the state government announced the list of Kalaimamani award winners. On Thursday night, the names of over 201 personalities including writers, singers, actors, musicians, and dancers were announced. Popular actors such as Karthi, Vijay Sethupathi, Sasikumar, Priyamani were featured in the list.

It is no secret that Vijay Sethupathi has emerged as one of the most bankable stars of Tamil cinema, which is why fans rejoiced after TN government announced his name of the list. After making a solid full-fledged debut in the year 2011 Thenmerku Paruvakaatru, Vijay Sethupathi has starred in a variety of roles. But for which year did Vijay Sethupathi win the award?

According to the list, Vijay’s name made it to the list compiled in 2017. That year has been a game changer for the actor as he starred in 2017’s superhit film Vikram Vedha. His role as Vedha had grey shades to it, and his performance was immensely appreciated. He also went on to star in Puriyatha Puthir, Karupan and a special appearance in
Katha Nayagan.
